Information about my Carputer
So what does it all do?
Well, the motherboard, Powersupply, Harddrive, and RAM all make up the basic elements of any computer. Like the one you use at home. I just put them all to good use in my car. Once I have a computer running in the car, the various other devices make it do various other things. For instance:
- The touchscreen provided by Audiomotivegruppe gives me instant access to all functions of the computer from the driver's seat.
- Wireless Internet Access is provided through the Linksys USB device. Giving me access to wireless hotspots around town as well access to home router setups.
- GPS Navigation is provided by the Royaltek Sapphire GPS Device. Mapping and directions are provided by IGuidance.
- Bluetooth Connectivity to my cell phone is provided by the Kensington Bluetooth USB device. This allows me to use my car speakers as a headset. Along with a USB microphone, the cell can remain in my pocket while I have a conversation through the carputer.
- 6,000 mp3s provide plenty of music to listen to while driving. I can search for a particular song by title, artist, or album. I can also make playlists of my favorites.
- Movies and music videos, while dangerous to watch while actively driving, can make waiting in traffic a lot less painful.
- Frodoplayer coordinates the music, gps, and cell phone devices into one touchscreen-friendly application.
